These simple earrings are made from a 1/2" mokume disk with a polka dot design. Mokume gane is an ancient Japanese metallurgy technique where sheets of different types of metal are combined in alternating layers and then fused together. The resulting sheet is then carved, punched, filed and sanded to reveal a pattern. This pattern can be made to resemble woodgrain which is where the name 'mokume gane' comes from.

In these earrings, the mokume is made from copper and sterling silver. The disks are cupped and given a special patina to bring out the contrast in the two metals. They are finished with a sterling silver ear wire that has been hammered for extra strength. The overall length of these is about 1 1/8"-- they are dainty and delicate but sure to catch people's attention.

I can ship these out within five days of receiving payment.
