Description

Welcome to Digital Nails! I'm a self-proclaimed polish-aholic and my love for creating my own polishes bloomed from a fun hobby for myself into this shop!

Hello, friends! Come and feast your eyes on Convergent. This polish was inspired by a plant I saw in an article a few weeks ago on the "worlds shiniest living thing". It's 15ml of metallic sparkly teal that shifts to a pinky purple on the extreme end. It's like Serenity's shy younger sister! The polish reads teal metallic foil in indoor light, but when exposed to a brighter light, such as sunshine or an LED or desk lamp, the holographic particles come through. The effect is a scatter of rainbow glints, which is quite stunning. Another really wonderful thing about Convergent is the duochrome purple you get on the far end of the light spectrum. Although not as strong as the shift in Serenity, this polish has a really subtle version of the same magenta-purple. It's shown above at two coats with a coat of Out the Door topcoat.

The name Convergent comes from the discussion in the article on convergent evolution. What's that, you say? It's where species from different branches of the tree of life arrive at the same adaptations independently. The species of berry mimics the iridescence we see in peacock feathers, on butterfly wings and so on, only with a completely different way of doing it. Science is badass, you guys. You should go read the article here: http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/notrocketscience/2012/09/10/shiny-fruit-pointillist-pixellated/#.UVi6flckRMj

Always, my polishes are 3 free, which means I don't use any ingredients that contain toluene, formaldehyde, or dibutyl phthalate.

Shipping policies

I ship USPS First Class with tracking numbers for all domestic packages under 13 oz. For everything over 13oz, I use Priority Mail.

I do not ship overseas. As a small business, I cannot afford to replace or refund any packages that may be lost in transit or destroyed by customs. Lost packages happen. It has been my experience in the past and if a package cannot be completely tracked to the destination, I do not feel comfortable sending it. I do hope you understand my position on this matter, and I will not make exceptions.
