Maytenus ilicifolia is a bush known by the common names of congorosa, cancrosa, chuchuwasi or maiteno.
It can be found naturally in South America, Paraguay, Uruguay, northeastern Argentina and the southern region of Brazil (known as Espinheira-santa).
The leaves are used as a caffeine free substitute for green/black tea (Camellia sinensis).
It's also used as by native people as traditional herbal medicine for stomach acidity and ulcers, inflammations and skin wounds.

INGREDIENTS:
Espinheira-Santa (Maytenus ilicifolia).

PREPARATION AND USAGE:
Use one teaspoon per cup (250 ml).
Pour on boiling water and leave to stand for 5 to 8 minutes.
1 cup after the main meal.
