This vintage book can be yours. Full of great stories and great illustrations. Stories include Pooh, A Christmas Carol, Rip Van Winkle, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, and a lot more. It was edited by Augusta Baker, Coordinator of Children Services for the NYC Public LIrary, who, according to Barbara Bader in Horn Book Magazine, "In the children’s library world and beyond, Augusta Baker was known for two big things — transforming the image of blacks in children’s books and enlarging the reach of storytelling." - Pretty cool, huh?!

Book is in good condition. The inside pages are very clean. The outside cover has wear along edges and sticker residue on the right top cover.

Approximately 7 x 10 inches, 256 pages.

Please look carefully at the pictures and email with any questions. Pictures can be emailed for closer scrutiny.

Shipping info: I can mail out using priority mail or parcel post which are often less expensive, but I need a zip code to calculate postage. Book will ship out in padded envelope for $5.95 in the US.

Starting now, we are selling off choice books from our vintage children's book collection. Stay tuned to GotchaChaCha for more books to come.

We also do three things: 1) take vintage books that need a new life, and frame the marvelous illustrations from them, 2) "Found Art" - vintage finds of folk art that catch our eye, and 3) Journals made from re-purposed obsolete books. The frames and glass are also vintage thrift finds. Because of the recycled nature, frames and glass can have slight imperfections. Weathered frames and glass are to be expected.
