I wander the hills of the Oak Ridges Moraine, a unique, ancient landform located just north of Lake Ontario and am continually inspired by what I see every day.

On April 12 the temperatures dipped below zero for a number of hours. With continuing rain all trees were covered with 1/4 inch of ice, power was lost for hours or days in places. The next day, the ice was gone, leaving many damaged trees.

This collage painting is one of many small, intimate landscapes I have created over many years.

Click on the zoom feature if you wish to see the work in detail. Each brush stroke and pencil mark will be visible.

This image measures 6 x 8 inches and the paper size is 7 x 10 inches. It is signed and dated bottom left lightly in pencil, H. Stooshinoff, April 12, 2013. There is a white border around the work that helps with framing.

The collage painting is completed on heavy, unprimed archival Whatman paper. A quick pencil sketch is followed by gluing with acrylic collage paper, and then acrylics.

Sold unframed. The digital frame in the last photo is an example only.

I have been painting and exhibiting my artwork for over 30 years and will continue for many more. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts, a Master of Fine Arts, and a Bachelor of Education.

All paintings are placed in plastic sleeves and shipped in sturdy cardboard mailers.
