New Duffle Bag Pattern Carry on Sized Travel Duffle with Trolley Sleeve Instant Download sewing pattern
Digital file type(s): 1 PDF
Sewing pattern for a new, slightly smaller, travel duffle. This one is perfect as a carry-on. I have included a built-in sleeve for carrying the duffle on the handle of your rolling bag. The dimensions are: 18 inches wide by 11 inches tall and 9 inches deep.
For those of you who have the original pattern, I will do some comparison here:
-The original duffle is 20 by 12 by 12.
-This bag is washable in your washing machine.
-The straps are 2" wide polypro or nylon, still lots of opportunity to make your bag look amazing with contrasting fabrics, maybe even more so now with all of the colors you can choose from for straps. There is a link in the pattern to take you to the place where I get my straps.
-There is a magazine pocket on one end.
-The zippered, pleated pocket on the other end is explained a little better this time, I think.
-I came up with a faster and easier way to add the straps!
-I use 6 ounce batting in this one instead of the 8 ounce.
-Overall, you are going to find that this duffle is faster and easier to make than the original and still very useful and impressive as a gift.

Love the pattern! I personally would love more photos of the sides and inside. However, I made it in a weekend and am very proud of my bag! I added an extra pocket on the front and this was my first duffle.
The seller was extremely quick to answer all my questions as a new bag maker, and was very encouraging of this enthusiastic beginner. I did veer a little off the pattern: I added binding the the top parts of the long quilt ends to cover my raw edges, and I added a binding on your outside to give the bag a little more structure and encase those raw edges as well. Overall, not a “weekend” project for me, but I had a great time working on this project.
I love love love this pattern! My first time making a travel bag and it came out perfect! Thank you so much.
Love all your patterns, I have made the larger version before and it turned out so cute.
