I am a beginning knitter (about a year) and took this pattern on. Luckily there are YouTube videos out there to help move me along. I am now a fan of DPN cast off for joining seams! It looks so much neater. The diagram in the pattern did not help me much, but YouTube never fails. I also learned Lsl for increasing stitches. Again, used YouTube but be sure to add 'garter stitch' to search. They are not even noticeable! I did not do button holes, skipped these. I have done large buttons on other items and I know they will fit through stitches if I decide to add them. I am almost finished with the hood, then on to the sleeves. I have done short rows, but getting started will be a slight head scratcher. This has been a learning experience for sure! Not really for a beginner, but can be done. This is for me, happy how it's turning out
