Description

Printable sewing binder set. Keep track of all your sewing projects, measurements, alterations, monthly/yearly finishes, fabric and equipment with the printable pages that make up this sewing journal. The set is available in pink, lavender, blue or black.

I designed the contents of this sewing journal to use as a means of planning and documenting my sewing projects.
I also designed these pages as a way of keeping a record and inventory of all my sewing supplies, equipment and sources. I have found them to be easy to use and very helpful. I think you will enjoy using them too!
I like to keep my sewing journal pages in a binder so I designed these as 8-1/2” x 11” pages which are perfect for a binder. To use in a binder, you may hole punch along the left edge of each page or place the pages in sheet protectors in your binder.

You may print the pages as many times as you need, year after year and for project after project!

Pages in this journal:

Sewing Journal - This is a cover page for your binder.

Sewing Project - These two pages are for recording and keeping track of all the pertinent information about your project. It is so nice to document the details of your project such as fabric and notions used, the pattern number and size plus any modifications you made. There are sections for recording the techniques and equipment used. You will appreciate the ability to go back and refer to this page and have all the information in one spot when you need it.

Project Pattern - This page is for recording information for the specific pattern used on your project.
The pattern name, number, size, manufacturer and source as well as the sizing, alterations and
modifications made can be recorded here. This page also features a helpful measurement chart to
record the key measurements and differences between your measurements and the pattern
measurements.

Project Notes - This is the ideal place to jot down notes about your project. What are the special
instructions, pitfalls, methods that work, things you would do differently next time, what worked and what didn’t. A nice record to read later.

Sketch / Inspiration - Use this page to plan and sketch out the design and look of your project. Try out color combinations. Attach pictures, samples or items that are your sources of inspiration.

Design Pages - These two pages have a front and back female fashion croquis for you to sketch your
designs and planned alterations. Print as many as you need to record all of your designs. There is a
line for recording the date and the version of each design.

Graph Paper Page - If you prefer to write / design on graph papger, print as many copies of this sheet
as you need to add to your journal.

To Do List - Keep track of all the steps required for your project and how you want to accomplish them. Don’t forget to check each item off when completed!

Fabric - This page is for keeping a detailed record of all the fabric in your fabric collection. There are sections to record the name, manufacturer, fiber content, size, and care instructions, of each piece of fabric as well as the source, purchase date and notes. There is also room for a nice sized swatch of the fabric for a sample. Print and fill out as many of this page that you need, even if you have a huge fabric stash!

Measurements - This page is for recording all of the measurements you need when sewing a garment. This is a really complete set of measurements, everything you need to make a custom fitted garment for yourself or if you are sewing for someone else. There are two Measurements pages, one for female and one for male pattern measurements.

Pattern List - Record all the patterns you have in your collection. Include all the important information such as pattern size, pattern name, pattern manufacturer and all the details. This serves as a nice inventory record.

Equipment List - Record all the equipment you have in your collection. There are sections for your Sewing machine, serger, shears, scissors, curves, rulers, gauges, iron, needles, etc. Record what you have and where it was purchased. There are sections for the model numbers, serial numbers, purchase and warranty information for your sewing machine, serger and iron. This is important information and it is really nice to have it all recorded in one handy spot.

Wish List - Keep a record of the items you still need or want complete with all the pertinent details.

Resources - Record and keep track of all your sources for learning about sewing techniques, books you own or want, online inspiration and shopping sites for supplies.

Sewing Year - Record your sewing finishes for each month to track your monthly and total yearly
output.

Binder Section Page - This page is an EDITABLE page that you can use to customize the sections of your binder. There is an editable space on the page that you can type in the title you want to use. Print the page and add it to your binder. You can change the section titles and print as many as you need.

Binder Spine Insert - These two pages have a selection of binder spine inserts in a variety of styles
and widths. There are also EDITABLE tab inserts so that you can customize the binder tabs to reflect the binder sections that you prefer.
