This is one of my favorites so grab a piece of today's americana. Never intended to be sold this bowl was handturned just for the enjoyment of working with wood. Mesquite is any of several small spiny trees or shrubs of the pea family, native to hot, dry regions of the New World and important as plants for bees and forage for cattle The bowl besides being hand turned, was rubbed with Tung oil and then hand waxed. The bowl was intentionally left as natural as possible to show the intregate grain pattern and insect burrowings. This bowl measures 3 3/4" X 8".

Larry Fritz, the artist, is a self-taught wood-turner, lathe artist and craftsman, originally from Northwestern Ohio. He has honed his skills for over fifty years.

He produces a variety of work including one-of-a-kind bowls, platters, vases, hollow vessels, boxes, pens and gift items at his residence in Texas. His clients reach around the world, from Norway to Japan.

All of his work is crafted from reclaimed domestic and hardwoods and other unique and exotic woods, frequently incorporating natural inclusions as design elements. Item #611
