A stunning antique circular table linen, with several examples of needlework techniques, the measurements are:
Total Diameter - 70 inches
Central circle - 21 inch across
Crocheted lace edge - 3 inches wide
In intricate detail, the four 20 inch long ovals depict the aspects of Demeter, the Olympian goddess of earth, agriculture and fertility. This freshly laundered, elegant off-white table cloth is in remarkable condition for its age and use, but there are some issues worth mentioning, which include, a tiny pinhole and small tear in the cloth, a 1/4 inch long stain, and several breaks in the needlework, most notably in the openwork squares and the lace trim around the hem.
