Learning to weave a Rag Rug is essential to keeping the age old tradition alive. These old-world style rugs are made throughout history in almost every region of the world with a different culture and background. However, they all have their very own story and carry wonderful pieces of nostalgia with their abundant rich heritage. We hope you will begin your Rag Rug journey and keep the ‘voice of tradition’ alive.

As you begin weaving, you will find how rewarding it is to be a part of the efforts to keep the heavy landfills at bay. You won’t be giving your old clothes away anymore. In fact, you will be collecting them to use for amazing and vibrant Rag Rugs to weave for every room in your home, or to gift to friends that need a comforting cushion under their feet.

So are you ready to do your part upcycling, reusing, and repurposing!? You may consider trying to slow down the climate change in different ways, such as consuming clothing more mindfully. Never put unwanted clothing in the trash bin because it is actually not a responsible way of living. The ‘GO GREEN’ movement is booming, so it not just a trend anymore.

Use the following ideas to keep clothing out of landfills:

1. repair and care for your own wardrobe. get back to mending.
although,it is fun to go shopping, if you want to make a
difference, then consider the options for green living.
2. donate clothing locally or gift to willing friends/family, to give
them a second life. check out the homeless shelters needs.
3. perhaps you’re interested in selling your excellent and gently
used clothing online? try: eBay, poshmark, thredup, or tradesy
to sell online.
3. upcycle old clothes into new clothes ideas. this is really fun!
4. buy better quality clothing that you feel truly comfortable and
confident.
5. how about a clothes swap? it’s actually a fun and common
practice these days.

Hello Felicity! I received my very heavy-duty rag rug loom from you and I love it! As you said - it is VERY heavy-duty - my favorite way for things to be made! I have already put it together (assembled like a dream!) and am thinking about what I want to weave on it. Thank you for making such a wonderfully thought-out and sturdy product!
