Greek Amphoras - Cross Stitch Pattern Bundle Set


These are some of my favorite stories from Greek Mythology, depicted on Greek Amphoras. There are three amphoras you can cross stitch.
Heracles fighting the Great Hydra of Lerna. Spoiler alert, he wins!
The sirens that lure in sailors with their songs are also a prominent story in the Odyssey.
And lastly, Bellerophon, with the aid of Athena, captures the elusive Pegasus with a golden bridle.

Pattern Notes:
33w x 39h each
1,013 stitches each
3 DMC colors


Finished sizes:

14 count aida ~ 2 1/2 x 2 3/4 inch (6 x 7.1cm)
16 count aida ~ 2 x 2 1/2 inch (5.2 x 6.2cm)
18 count aida ~ 1 3/4 x 2 1/4 inch (4.7 x 5.5cm)


These are easy to finish and display in 3 or 4 inch embroidery hoops. All three patterns have been test stitched on tea-dyed aida.


Included with this PDF are two versions:
Full color blocks with distinct symbols
No color with distinct symbols. I can’t guarantee compatibility with 3rd party software such as Pattern Keeper, but they usually do work.

This pattern has been scrutinized for readability and ease of stitching. Photos show this design test stitched on tea dyed aida. Images of the final product are simulated as closely as possible to the real thing, but keep in mind colors may not reproduce accurately on every monitor and screen.

Bought this pattern for a cross-stitching Classicist. My friend prefers to use kits, so I have printed the pattern and packed it up with the required threads, a choice of aida colours, and some mini hoops. Patterns look very straightforward, and I particularly like all the quotes from ancient Greek literature about the myths - I think this is a really nice touch.
