The Stand Quilt Pattern is a simple design made in three different sizes to create a dynamic, interesting overall design. It finishes at 56" wide x 64" long (see red and white version) OR 48" wide by 64" long if you choose not to add the small side borders (green and tan version).

This quilt pattern can be made using only 2 fabrics/colors. The larger version with small blocks on the left and right sides requires 3.25 yards of EACH fabric, and the smaller version without side borders requires 2.5 yards of EACH fabric.

The Stand Quilt pattern is third in a series of quilt patterns inspired by a single word that has meaning to me. The first two are Awake and Arise.

This pattern assumes that the maker has basic understanding of sewing, seam allowances, rotary cutting, and quilting.

My grandmother and I are working on this quilt and the instructions are very easy to follow - this quilt comes together VERY QUICKLY with minimal cutting (compared to quilts I usually work on). Lovely!

I love this pattern. I did the hunter star with the 2 3/4” squares and found it very tedious. This simplifies the process with the same great results in the look.

This quilt pattern is nice, and well explained. Working so much on the bias - and because I used cheap fabric from Joann's - this was more challenging than I should have let it be. But I am glad for how it turned out. Will add a picture when its back from the long arm quilter.

Update: I had a lovely conversation with HopefulHomemaker who helped me understand that Hunter's star pattern is traditionally pieced with multiple shapes (I had no idea)! I also wanted to be clear that the pattern is written very well with helpful diagrams. The extra information/details on block construction would have helped me plan better for construction time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This pattern looks great, but I really, REALLY, wish it disclosed that it's made using more than just half-square triangles. It's a different mindset when the pattern has diamonds and trapezoids as well. This means lots of bias sewing and more time so as to not stretch the fabric. We'll see how it goes, but I generally don't like to sew with these types of shapes.
