The kits are enviromentally friendly. The will be no plastics in the end product and any plastics in the equipment wil be clean recycled packaging.

What is a pan Pad?

An Idea I thought of myself though I doubt that I am the first to think of it.
I have always used a pan stand to put my hot pans on when serving dinner but it often gets buried under fruit bowls etc.
My Husband will grab a Tea Towel to protect the worktop and we have a few burn marks on our worktop to demonstrate that the insulation properties of a tea Towel are not the best!
Welsh breed sheep are able to survive in extreme weathers up in the mountains and in the valleys and with very little shelter. This is because their fleece has tremendous insulating properties!
So I thought to combine My husbands and my methods:
a thick insulating pad that would protect the work surface from heat with a rope handle that could hang with the tea towels.
To reassure myself, I did produce a prototype and tested the temperature under the pan pad after placing a pan of boiling water from the hob on top.
The temperature crept up very slowly and reached a peak at 5 minutes of 40c .
This is equal to a very high fever in humans so unlikely to damage a worksurface.
That been said, my test was not under laboratory conditions, there are many variables, and I am not qualified to certify that your Pan Pad will not cause damage to your work surface so please make your own assessments

2 x 25g Black Welsh Mountain combed tops
1 x layout size guide (clean recycled packing foam)
1 x Bamboo felting mat
1 x Bar of olive oil Soap
2 x sheets of clean recycled bubble wrap
1 x length of rope
2 x Rubber bands

Other equipment required:
Kitchen grater
Bowl of warm water
Towel
Microwave is helpful but not essential
