The Venus of Willendorf

The original Venus of Willendorf is a small prehistoric limestone figurine discovered in Austria in 1908 and dating to approximately 30,000 years ago during the Upper Paleolithic period.

It has become one of the world's best-known examples of prehistoric figurative art and an enduring image in the study of early human culture.

Although commonly called a "Venus," that name was applied by modern archaeologists thousands of years after the figure was created. Its original purpose and meaning are unknown, and there is no surviving evidence identifying it as a particular goddess.

UK orders are sent using Royal Mail 48 Tracked, with delivery upgrades available at checkout.

International tracked delivery is generally estimated at approximately 7 working days, depending on customs processing and your local postal service.

International Delivery and Customs

Selected destinations are sent using Royal Mail International Tracked DDP (Delivered Duties Paid), where the service is available and applicable to the value of the order.

EU Orders Up to €150

For qualifying EU orders with an intrinsic value of €150 or less, Etsy automatically collects the applicable VAT at checkout.

From 1 July 2026, the €3 EU customs duty per item applies to imported goods within this value range. For destinations where our duties-paid delivery service is offered, this customs charge is incorporated into the postage price and paid by us through the delivery service.

There should therefore normally be no additional customs payment required on delivery for qualifying DDP orders.

EU Orders Over €150

For orders with an intrinsic value over €150, Etsy does not normally collect EU import VAT at checkout and the €3 flat customs duty does not apply.

Instead, normal import VAT and any applicable customs duty are assessed when the parcel enters the destination country.

Where a suitable duties-paid service is available for both the destination and order value, we may be able to send the parcel with these charges paid in advance. Otherwise, customs charges are collected by your country and will need to be paid by the recipient.
