The outside of this item has been left mostly unglazed to give a heightened sensory experience (it feels good). The design technique is called sgraffito. Underglaze color is hand painted onto the still wet clay. The details are then hand carved through the underglaze revealing the design.

Each piece is thrown by hand on the pottery wheel, altered, painted, slow dried, fired, hand glazed and fired again. This assures you are getting a high-quality piece that will give many years of satisfaction in use. Each piece is an original and unique piece of art.
