• Use wd-40 or Olive Oil to prevent the blade from rusting.
• Coat the blade with light oil (such as olive oil).
• Oiling the blade will give it a rich lustre look (Whether its Damascus steel or any other)
• Do not store the tool in leather sheath for a longer period (longer than a month) It will result in blade staining because of the absorbent nature of leather.
• If stored in leather sheath, it is recommended to wrap the blade in lamination sheet first.

Phew what an ordeal 1st shipment was wrong sword and on top of that customs cut through the bubble wrap and cut the leather grip the guard and leather wrapped scabbard. Sam took care of me and sent the right one and customs didn't destroy anything this time around. Great customer service!
