This piece is sold as a study. What is a study? Studies are usually done quickly. I'm sometimes trying to figure out the right composition or technique to use on a bigger painting. I might paint a smaller detail of a bigger painting to practice that object. Or I might be out driving and pull over to paint the sky - trying to capture the moment before the clouds or light change! Studies are usually a bit rougher in my approach with a less finished quality in their presentation. They might have messier backs or edges and might not be in the "ready to hang" category. They're priced accordingly - usually much less than the pieces that I consider "finished".
