ATLANTA HAWKS BASKETBALL Player Vintage Letterpress Printing Block, antique sportsman athletics cut, Atlanta Georgia Joe Caldwell 1964

Antique basketball portrait for letterpress poster printing - this is a relief print block featuring a halftone photo of a young man, possibly Joe Caldwell, playing basketball for the Atlanta Hawks. This is a metal halftone photo plate mounted on wood. Normal printshop wear and tear. Saw marks in the supporting wood shouldn't affect printing. Back of the block reads, "Economic Opportunity Atlanta."

This block is usable and printable as an antique component for letterpress prints. These blocks also make great souvenirs, gifts or visual knick knacks for vintage sports enthusiasts, Atlanta basketball fans or printers.

Tall 77.5 picas (with cutouts as pictured)
Wide 49.5 picas (with cutouts as pictured)
Type High Block is .918" high which is the standard for printing blocks in the US
All measurements are approximate - I round to nearest pica or half pica - also see photos.
(this is the measurement from the bottom surface of the block to the printing surface)

I provide all measurements here in printers measure - Picas and Points (There are 6 picas in an inch for non printers.) Also see photos - picas and inches are indicated on my ruler shown.

These antique printing plates are sold AS IS - no returns or exchanges. All items in this store are used and most likely dirty with ink and print shop dust on them, if I notice any flaws or crushed sections I will note it in the description or ask me if you notice something that you want clarified. I am a letterpress printmaker so if you have questions please ask.

If you want to order multiple items it is sometimes best to contact me - I prefer to ship several items in small flat rate boxes because of the weight of some of these pieces and can fit as many as will go for 1 rate.
