Steiff Maxi Mole Mohair Plush with Red Shovel & 2 Tags

Maxi the Mole made by Steiff in the fifties. This 4.5 inch rodent has the name tag as well as the yellow button tag. Button tag says, "Outer covering 59% wool 41 % cotton on one side, the other says Steiff 431290 Made in Germany preis price. Name tag says Steiff original marke Maxi. Gaty has glass eyes and a red felt nose. He is carrying a red plastic shovel and has 4 claws on his arms and 4 toes on his feet, all made of felt. There are 6 whiskers on each side The original name tag is on the chest and the button tag is on the foot.

I see some wear to the top of the head and down center of back, some discoloration to the claws and feet. The mohair is thin at the seams. Comes as found from a smoke free estate


While this was a toy at one time, it is being sold as a collectible. It may not be safe by today's standard for children to play with. The Lego model said it is extremely dangerous, but the alligator never bit down on the Lego man, he did not have a scratch.
