The Celtic Rectangle Scrubbie is a practical Irish-inspired kitchen accessory that can be crocheted quickly and with a small amount of special "scrubbie" yarn.

Scrubbies are abrasive little washcloths that fit in the palm of your hand that help you clean your dishes, pots and pans. This crochet scrubbie pattern works up very fast and uses mainly basic crochet stitches. The key to making this crochet scrubbie is the special “scrubbie yarn” that I used. I really enjoyed working with this yarn that is meant for these washcloths – it is bulky and has a lot of texture in it but not so much that it hurts your hands while you crochet with it.

(Most crochet stitches are simple but the knot weaving is a little challenging)

Supplies:
3 colors of bulky (Size 5) “scrubbie” yarn (1 skein per color will make several scrubbies)
(I used Yarn Bee Scrub-ology Scrub It! In colors: True Blue (dark blue), Aqua (light blue) and Bright Pink
J/6 mm crochet hook
