I was anxious for Spring when I made this necklace and earring set. The necklace features five expertly matched lampwork beads by glass artist Linda Foote of New Hampshire. These five beads are a wonderful blend of snow white, gold glitter and soft jade green. Blended with the green Jade and white Howlite beads one feels Winter is on the run.

The necklace is 21 inches long. The matching earrings with gold Czech crystal accent are 3/4 inch dangle from the end of the gold filled hooks.

Howlite is a natural white borate mineral used extensively in carvings and beads. It is often dyed other colors as it accepts dye well. Much of what you see labeled as turquoise for example, is really dyed Howlite; one must be careful in purchasing turquoise in particular. These beads are the true undyed, natural white Howlite. Jade is a form of Nephrite with a hardness near that of Quartz. It comes in many shades of green, milky white and an additional form, called Jadeite, comes in many additional colors.
