Some people benefit from the use of activity mats to promote calm, to entertain, to give sensory feedback or to practice key skills, such as using a zip or buttons. An activity mat could be useful to people with Autism, Neurodivergence or Dementia.

On the top side of the padded mat, there are a variety of activities including: a marble run, buttons to fasten and unfasten, elastic to stretch, laces to tie up, a zip to do and beads to move.

Various ribbons and rope have been attached for additional stimulation.

The reverse side provides pictures (of peaches, lemons, cupcakes and pineapples) as visual clues to encourage talking. Encourage your loved one to describe what they see, can they make a shopping list?

There is also a 'washing line' of different tactile fabrics and materials with wooden clothes pegs to pinch. Additionally there is a wooden ring and taggie with colourful ribbons to clasp and shake.
