Why do we make candles with Soy wax?

Soy wax is a more eco-friendly and natural alternative to paraffin wax for a number of reasons, including: 1. Renewable: Soy wax is made from soybeans, a renewable resource, while paraffin wax is derived from petroleum, a fossil fuel. 2. Clean-burning: Soy wax produces less soot and toxins than paraffin wax, and burns at a cooler temperature, making it less likely to cause a fire. 3. Non-toxic: Soy wax is non-toxic and better for your health. 4. Easier to clean: Soy wax is easier to clean up than paraffin wax, as it can be easily washed out with soap and water. 5. Burns longer: Soy wax candles burn longer than paraffin wax candles.

Do we make all of the candles ourselves, or are we just another drop-shipper?

We 100% make the candles ourselves. There are two of us who do this lovely process. We source the jars, lids, wax, fragrance, matches, gift boxes and packaging. We have an enormous industrial wax melter and we hand-pour every single one of our candles which we sell. We do not drop-ship pre-made candles. Many other sellers drop-ship and buy the candles pre-made from China. But you can't guarantee much using this lazy method.

How are you printing the labels for the candles?

We have a dedicated label-specific printer. It's very expensive but it's fast, efficient and we love it. Many sellers use a generic desktop paper printer but the results are bad. Our labels are sharp with strong colours, deep blacks and won't smudge.

What size are your candles?

We make and sell several different styles and sizes of candle vessels. Each listing has the candle size in dimensions listed in the description and in most listings, we show the candle being held, giving a true scale. We also have the candle burn-time detailed. Some people are very choosy over the candle size but we think the burn time is of more importance.

This Aries candle makes for a wonderful gift for your friend.

The soft hue label features a minimal modern typographic layout. To the right it reads 'aries' above a dividing line. Underneath is the Aries definition text, followed by the chosen candle scent.

All of our candles are made with earth-friendly soy wax. The 180ml jar candle is presented in an apothecary style jar with a screw-top lid and filled with natural plant-based wax.

The dimensions of this candle are 8.2cm x 6.3cm and the net wax weight of this jar candle is 140g, giving an estimated average total burn time of 30 hours.

CANDLE CARE AND SAFETY

These candles have a real flame and fire is hot! Please apply common sense and be cautious always when lighting and handling a lit candle.

Candles must be kept well clear of all combustible materials including flammable decorations, foliage, and electrical equipment.

Don’t leave a lit candle unattended.

When lighting for the first time, please allow the wax to melt to the very sides of the jar – if you don’t do this, it can cause the candle to ‘tunnel’ and waste wax. The maximum recommended burn time is 4 hrs per burn. Always trim the wick after each burn to 5mm by cutting off the burnt ends when cool. Not trimming the wick will cause the flame to become large.

The candle vessel will get hot. Never burn the candle wax fully, leaving a minimum of 5mm of wax in the base of the jar. Always place the candle on top of a coaster to avoid damage to furniture.

We suggest the room be well-ventilated.
