Americana T Handle Boards

Great primitive boards made for your stitching or needlepunch.

These boards are panted and stained to give you the primitive look.

The colors available are:

Lantern Black
Ye Olde Gold - very primitive
Revolutionary Red
Bluecoat Blue
Dirty Burlap
Pumpkin Orange
Leather Brown

The board measures:

7” Wide x 8 1/2” High

The board is 1/2” thick.

Great board for a dome shaped design.

Mounting area will fit a 6 x 6 or a 6 x 4 design.

Board History

My boards are made from Poplar Trees that we mill on our sawmill.

The trees are made into boards that we dry for about 6 months to one year.

We run the boards through a planer to get the desired 1/2” thickness. Plus the planer also smooths out any roughness.

The boards are then each cut out by me on a scroll saw from a template I have of each board.

They are then brought into the shop where I sand all the edges of each board with a little sander.

The the cut out boards are sanded on the tops and bottoms with each with my Orbit
Sander on my Sanding Table that my husband built.

After that the board is wiped down with tacky cloth to remove all saw dust that may be on them.

Then, I hand paint each board and sit on little triangles to dry. If I have different type finishing procedures for different boards this step will take longer. Like Crackle Boards of multiple layer paint colors.

The final step is either to overstain for a primitive look or clear coat for chalk or regular finish. Then they are all drying on tables all over my shop. 😉

So, you see… I touch each board a lot of times in my finishing process. I try to bring you the best boards for your stitching finishes.
