Limited edition lino print "Eubalaena Japonica"
(The North Pacific Right Whale)
▲▲▲
This is a hand-printed linocut print of my original illustration. Designed & printed in the UK.
"Eubalaena Japonica" or the "North Pacific Right Whale" is one of the rarest of all large whale species and among the rarest of all marine mammal species.
These whales are listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act since 1970 and are depleted under the Marine Mammal Protection Act. There are likely fewer than 500 North Pacific right whales remaining.
(***info from NOAA Fisheries)
The whale in my illustration is an island. It has trees growing on its back, creating an ecosystem of its own. These whales have become very rare, living through stories and legends.
I am trying to preserve this endangered specimen for future generations.
Let's not allow that to happen in reality. Save the whales <3.
There are ONLY 10 prints available, reflecting the tiny amount of those creatures living in the ocean.
