French Painter Etienne Ret (1900-1996) signed and dated this oil on French newspaper collage,"Paris, 1969", done in a contemporary style of a red headed boy with big eyes holding a French newspaper titled 'NEWSPAPER BOY'. The artwork is mounted in a vintage frame. The painting measures 24 x 20 inches and the frame measures 30.75 x 26.50 inches. In my opinion, this is the best painting of all his artwork!!

THIS 'NEWSPAPER BOY' PAINTING BY ETIENNE RET IS A GREAT ARTWORK INVESTMENT WHICH APPRECIATES OVER THE YEARS. PERSONALLY, I THINK THE 'NEWSPAPER BOY' PAINTING IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE 'BOY HOLDING BALLOONS' PAINTING.

Etienne Ret was born in Bourbonnais, France on January 6, 1900. He studied art in Paris at the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs. He first exhibited his original paintings, etchings and lithographs with the Societe des Independants in Paris and throughout France. Ret moved to the United States shortly before the outbreak of World War II and initially settled in San Antonio, Texas. He resided there during the 1940's and established his reputation as a leading artist. Around 1950, Etienne Ret moved to Los Angeles where he continued to show his art in major exhibitions. Ret's art centered primarily on figure studies, particularly those of children and women. Today his paintings, lithographs and etchings are included in the permanent collections of the State Museum in France., the Encyclopedia Britannica Collection in London, the Witte Memorial Museum in San Antonio,, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Pasadena Art Institute, San Diego Fine Art Society and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
