"Tigerlily Tweet" was created especially for my adult coloring book, Birdy: A Fanciful Bird Coloring Book, published September, 2022. This PDF includes a bonus grey-line version for those who like less emphasis on darker lines. This is useful when you like to recolor (or color over) lines and add your own details.
Upon purchase, check your email for a confirmation from Etsy. You’ll be able to instantly download this individual coloring page as watermark-free, 8.5x11 (letter-sized) PDF, and then print on the paper of your choice with your home printer. Because this is vector art, it can be enlarged if your printer is able to handle larger sheets of paper. Your files will always be accessible from your receipt in the "purchases" section of your account. Be sure to go to page 2 for the added bonus grey-line version of this original b&w illustration (if you would like less emphasis on the lines and more on your coloring).
** You will receive 1 PDF file consisting of 2 pages. Be sure to check your printer settings to print the page(s) you need. The second PDF contains information about Ruby Charm Colors.
All of my coloring page illustrations are pulled into the ProCreate app on my iPad Pro. I used an Apple pencil to add more details, move the elements around until I have them just right, and then I create final "clean line" designs for print and digital reproduction. Each one of my illustrations take anywhere from 8 to 12 hours to complete … sometimes even longer, and every one is a labor of love.
That said, I have to mention some IMPORTANT LEGALESE ….. Please respect the time and effort that went into creating my illustrations (all of my art is copyrighted) and do not share or sell the PDF file and do not sell printed copies, or use the image commercially. This coloring page is for your personal enjoyment. Selling any and all items using this image is prohibited. You are not permitted to send the files to other people or sell/trade/give them away. Please do not post this image online without your coloring.
If you want to share your colored creation online, PLEASE DO! But please credit #RubyCharmColors (aka Susan Carlson) as the artist of the original illustration in addition to yourself as the colorist. As the artist, I retain all copyright protections, rights, and privileges. Thank you for understanding and for supporting an independent artist! PRINTING & COLORING TIPS:
You can use an inkjet printer (that’s what I have) or a laser printer (which is ideal if you'll be using paint or markers). When you open the PDF, select the highest quality print your printer allows. In your print settings, you might also to able to expand the image to fill more of the page (depending on your printer’s capabilities). Because I create vector files, you should be able to increase/decrease the size of each image with no loss of line quality. The same goes for the added bonus grey-line versions.
I sometimes use watercolor pencils to lay down my base colors and have yet to have problems smudging the ink from my Epson inkjet … but you may want to experiment. I also print my images on card stock (though plain paper is fine, too) as I like the thickness and it is less likely to warp or bleed through. Once my water-colored areas are dry (it doesn’t usually take too long) I go back over those colors with a variety of colored pencils in light layers to add detail and depth. You can print several copies of this illustration (white paper is great, but colored paper is a lot of fun, too) and experiment with different papers, color palettes and techniques.
I (or one of my coloring team members) tests each one of my designs they go out into the world. You can see my coloring process and samples of my work on my Instagram account (@RubyCharmColors) and on my Wordpress site (www.rubycharmcolors.com) when I also feature tips, other artists, art supplies and additional RubyCharmColors products, so give me a follow!
