This hour and 40 minute instructional dvd on the art of making fairy furniture from natural materials will give you a hands-on start in creating unusual and fascinating works of art. You can use the basic instruction in this dvd to make a variety of furniture sizes and shapes for your own particular personal or class projects. The instructions do not follow a "to scale" format but can be used to make any size furniture you want.
Learn how to make a beautiful little twig chair, a lovely moss bed, a table with tiny accessories and an amazing shelf using interesting branches, flowers, moss, leaves, twigs, pods and other natural materials. These step by step instructions will teach you, your family and friends, or your students what tools you'll need, what materials to gather or buy, how to construct the basic frame of the furniture and how to embellish and decorate each piece.
Your instructors in this dvd are the internationally-known artists Mike and Debbie Schramer, whose nature furniture has been featured in many books, magazines and newspapers, including "Fairy Wings" by Lauren Mills and "Victoria" magazine. The Schramer's beautiful creations from nature were awarded "Best of Show" at the Seattle Miniature Show and their amazing Fairy Treehouse was one of the most popular and talked about exhibits at Tom Bishop's International Miniature Show in Chicago. Their amazing and intricate furniture pieces have been exhibited and sold in many galleries, shops and museums as well. Debbie and Mike enjoy sharing their talents and artistry with others and are excited to offer this wonderful instructional dvd to help others learn this unique form of art in an easy-to-follow format.
Originally from the Northwest in Washington state, Debbie and Mike have taught children and adults in a variety of settings, including Waldorf schools, children's museums and many other private and public schools. Inspired by the beauty and amazing detail in nature, many of the Schramer's students were able to discover a new creativity and artistic ability within themselves. This dvd has been designed by Mike and Debbie to also help build the confidence of the student as an artist. Once you learn the basics of creating this wonderful little furniture, you can then use your own imagination and ideas to make whatever pieces you would like; inspirations for your own works of art will be able to "bloom". The possibilities are endless!!
Also, as an added inspiration, Mike and Debbie have included many beautiful scenes from nature: gardens, flowers, streams, ducks and birds, trees, etc. to help you feel the spirit of nature and to also give you some ideas of materials to gather for your nature art. There are a few fun surprises in the dvd as well!!
This exciting and unique dvd would perfect for children, families, grandmothers, art teachers, art therapists, nannies, parents, craft groups, summer camps or anyone who loves to learn something new and truely creative. Nature is beautiful, inspiring and amazing and art can be healing, motivating and exciting; combining the two can be a magical and memorable experience!
We hope you have a wonderful time creating beautiful Fairy Furniture and would love to hear from you with any comments or questions! Also, please contact us if you would like to purchase more than one copy of our dvd or if you are interested in ordering it wholesale.
