Reptile Hide with Front Thermometer/Hygrometer - InfoHide

This is another reptile hide with an integrated thermometer/hygrometer, but facing the front this time! This version is optimized for enclosures that are around waist to eye-level, due to viewing angles of the display. The inside-facing hygrometer port measures the humidity of the inside of the hide, rather than measuring it from a random spot in the enclosure, as well as measuring ambient temps close to where they live. I always felt like there was never a good place to put probes in an enclosure; you either have to use dangerous sticky tape (which sent one of my snakes to the vet many years ago when it failed and adhered to them) or simply set it down and see how long it takes your pet to knock it over. This hide is a convenient, user-friendly solution.

If you ever want to get rid of the sensor and use it as a plain hide, a replacement cover is also included, which can be installed with a 2mm hex/allen wrench. Your purchase will also include an extra set of batteries for the hygrometer/thermometer. Currently it's offered in three sizes, and a growing list of colors! See the dimensions of each size below:

Small: 7 x 5 1/2 x 2 inches, with a 2 1/4" wide and 1 3/4" tall entrance

Medium: 8 1/2 x 6 x 2 1/4 inches, with a 2 3/8" wide and 2" tall entrance

Large: 8 1/2 x 7 3/4 x 3 3/8 inches, with a 3" wide and 2 3/8" tall entrance

NOTE: This hide now ships with a subtle update to the way the thermometer/hygrometer is fixed into the hide, and the photos don't reflect this yet! In the past, the sensor was glued into a frame that was then screwed into the hide. Now, the sensor is simply firmly snapped into a cutout in the hide, and a frame is placed over it, which is then screwed in. This sandwiches the sensor against the hide to make sure it never moves, while also making it easier to replace the sensor if it ever fails or is damaged. To remove the sensor from the hide, go from the inside of the hide, and you'll see two tabs on either side of the sensor. I recommend depressing one of these tabs with your finger at a time, and pushing that side out slightly, then repeating for the other side. Don't be afraid to use a little force, and I will soon update these listings with better photos and a video!

These are made-to-order and 3D printed in either PLA+ or PETG depending on the color, however the material choice has no meaningful effect on the types of things I make. I'm picky about the print quality of my items, and I'm really pleased with the finish on them--you shouldn't find any sharp edges on them. They are made and shipped fairly quickly!
