From my Robot Sea series.

Don't let the name or the aggressive spikes of this ring fool you: it is really quite harmless! This ring is the result of a challenge to myself to shake things up, use daring new materials, and create something that is assertive and yet wearable at the same time.

This ring is finely crafted from sterling silver and finished with a warm patina. The red spikes are made of a soft and pliable silicone.

The overall height of this ring is about 2 3/8". It features a double half round band ending gracefully in the cupped disk which holds the bristles. These explode out of a second domed disk on the top of this ring like sea urchin. Between the two ends of the band is a small silver circle showing my 'dtw' hallmark stamp. This one-of-a-kind ring is a size 8.75.

About my Something Fun! section: I enjoy creating kinetic jewelry, mechanical designs, and unusual pieces that combine fine metals with unusual materials. I enjoy setting a particular challenge at the outset and coming up with inventive solutions in the process. Pieces in this section are listed on a rotating basis, usually for no more than a few weeks at a time. They are all either limited edition or one-of-a-kind pieces. Sadly, with many of these pieces, once they are gone they are gone forever.
