Description

I handcrafted this abalone pendant by bezel setting a slice of blue-green paua shell on a hammered sterling disc. Three sterling posts hold that disc above a rectangular backplate, leaving space for a chain (see final photo). For contrast, I gave the backplate a soft satin finish, using a brass brush and a touch of detergent. The circle that holds the abalone is hammered and mirror polished.

This would make a lovely Mother's Day gift.

Paua is a form of abalone found only in New Zealand and is distinguished by its intense shades of blue and green.

NOTE: there is a hairline crack across the bottom of the shell - it will not come apart but can be seen on close inspection.

The pendant is 1 inch wide and 1 ¼ inches long.

Chain NOT included. If you need a chain, please convo me re length, style and cost.
