This sewing pattern is for a stylish waist belt with 5 handy pockets in a range of great sizes. It's an eye-catching design that's really practical and particularly useful at summer festivals. The unique design is suitable for a wide range of users, including festival goers, dog walkers, market stall vendors, archers - in short, anyone who likes to be out and about with their hands free and their valuables secure!

Skill Level: Advanced Intermediate - experience of bag making techniques and sewing multiple layers of fabric is a must for this pattern. The instructions are clearly laid out in a step by step format, with colour illustrations to guide you through every step of the making process. All you need is a 'Can Do' attitude and a willingness to learn new techniques such as sewing 3-D cargo and inset zipper pockets - if you haven't done them before this is a GREAT way to increase your bag making skills!

The instructions are written in ENGLISH only, with measurements given in inches.

FINISHED DIMENSIONS: 18 1/2" wide across the top x 10 1/4" long at the center.
POCKET DIMENSIONS: Cargo Pocket: 6½” x 6¾” x 1”; Main Zipper Pockets: 7” x 7” (Front and Back); Front slip pocket (for cards): 3½” x 2¾” : Small zipper pocket (for coins): 5” x 2½”.

Waist circumference approx. (adjustable): Small 28 – 42”; Medium 34 – 46”; Large 38 – 50”.

The pattern is written in English and comprises a VERY detailed step-by-step photo tutorial with LOTS of color photos throughout illustrating every step of the process from start to finish. It also includes full-scale computer drawn templates with seam allowances included for you to cut out and assemble yourself.

The finished product is beautiful quality - All pockets are fully lined. No seam binding involved, and NO hand finishing. (The cargo pocket needs to be basted in place by hand unless you're a very experienced sewer).

RECOMMENDED FABRICS
-Exterior: any medium-weight woven fabric (8-10oz): cotton canvas or cotton twill are ideal. Soft vinyl, light waxed or waterproof canvas can also be used without interfacing. Avoid stiff or heavy fabrics. Quilting cotton can be used in conjunction with fusible woven interfacing (apply a double layer) and fusible interlining as specified below.
-Pocket Linings: - any light-weight woven fabric - quilting cotton or cotton poplin.
-Interfacing – Pellon Shapeflex SF101 or Vilene G700.
-Interlining – if your fabric is soft or lightweight, add a layer of low-loft fusible fleece to the Back panel - Pellon 987F or Vilene H630 will give your bag substance and make it more durable.

MATERIALS REQUIRED
Exterior Fabric - (whole bag)- ¾ yd.
-For contrast fabric version (as in photos) - ½ yd main colour, plus 1 x FQ contrast
Lining Fabric (44” wide) ½ yd.
Fusible woven Interfacing Vilene G700 (36” wide) ¾ yd to include fabric strap
OR Pellon Shapeflex SF101 (20” wide) 1 ¼ yds (1 ¾ yds to include fabric strap)
For extra body add interlining -
Fusible Fleece- Pellon 987F (20” wide) ½ yd
or Vilene H630 (36” wide) ½ yd
Zippers (1” wide) 2 x 7” and 1 x 5”
Webbing tape* 1” wide (2mm thickness is best) – for size small 27”/ size medium 33” / size large 39”.

HARDWARE:
1 x ‘D’ ring, 1 x swivel clip, 1 x strap slider- all size 1”.
2 x snap fasteners for pockets* – 1 x ½” for Cargo Pocket, 1 x 3/8” for slip pocket (or 2 x ½” will do)

Options for SLIP (CARD) POCKET-
For a leather fastener tab instead of fabric - 1 small scrap of leather 4” x 4”
For leather binding to pocket edge instead of fabric - 1 x small scrap of thin leather or vinyl 7” x ½”
*Small Scraps of heavy fusible interfacing are also required
