Description

Goats are amazing creatures, imagine being able to eat a thistle!

WHAT IS AN ETCHING?: This is a handprinted etching, each print is inked up by me, the artist. I use copper plates, and first do a line etching that I then add aquatint to, this is a etching process, that involves rosin and heating the copperplate, you then "stop out" in reverse, with light tones first right down to rich dark tones, creating quite color dense areas. As the copper plate is inked up for each and every print, it does mean that some differences can occur from print to print, I hope you treasure this as part of the hand printed traditional technique that etching is.
If you would like to see me make and print an etching, go to www.youtube.com/c/MariannJohansenEllis

SIZE: The size of the actual image (the copperplate)
is 9.5" x 6" ( 24cm x 15cm)
I have printed my goats on a beautiful piece of warm white velvety printmaking paper.
Paper size: 12" x 9"(30cm x 24cm)

EDITION: The etching is signed, titled and numbered (Edition of 100) by me.
Please note you might not receive the number in the photo.

SHIPPING: I mail your etching to you, protected by tissuepaper, it comes with a nice flier explaining what an etching is, and as always, a goodie for you!

I love this hen. It's a really beautifully made print. I framed it like a treasured family portrait and it cracks me up because she (the hen) looks like quite the regal matriarch

I love the print! It came when she said it was going to, and it is in perfect condition! Mariann gave me tips on how it should be framed and am looking forward to picking out a frame to show the print off.
