Description

One of the most useful findings you could ask for. These endcaps come in a large range of sizes, and are perfect for so many different jewellery materials. Ideal for kumihimo, viking knit, ribbon, braid, horsehair, leather, cotton and every kind of thong, each one is hand fabricated and polished to a high shine.

Made entirely from sterling silver, each cap has a gently domed closed end topped by a soldered ring which is strong and perfectly sized for adding your own clasp or connector. The open ends are gently bevelled to make it easier to fit them. I recommend using a two part epoxy for strength and durability, but you can use your favourite glue, provided it's designed to attach metal to whatever other material you're using.

All caps are sold in pairs and are approximately 8mm long

This listing is for one pair of caps with a 6mm inner diameter (7mm outer diameter). Please see my other listings for a wide range of different sizes to suit your own piece.

If you need caps of a different size, or with a different finish, feel free to convo me and I'll happily make them for you. You'll also see listings for a version without rings, or with plain ends for a neat finish to your cord or thong.

Payments

Secure options
  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Etsy keeps your payment information secure. Etsy shops never receive your credit card information.
I use the etsy payments system, which gives you a wide range of payment choices and full buyer protection. If I haven't received payment with three days, I will always relist the item - I recognise that you might want to change your mind, but I can't afford not to sell it at all :)

Returns & exchanges

Items returned within one week of receipt will be refunded less postage. For hygiene reasons, earrings for pierced ears cannot be be refunded unless faulty. This does not affect your statutory rights. Custom items are non-refundable.

Shipping policies

I pack carefully, and ship using Royal Mail first class or international post. This is not a guaranteed or tracked service - if you would like to upgrade your postage, please use the upgrade option. Some more expensive items will be automatically upgraded to Special Delivery or a signed-for Airmail service. I strongly recommend upgrading shipping for any order totalling £50 or more - without this your items are uninsured and I cannot be responsible for non-delivery. Upgraded postage does not ensure an earlier shipping date - I try always to process orders as they are received, and do my best to ship everything as quickly as possible. Sometimes life gets in the way and I will always keep you informed if this happens.

Additional policies

General
Jewellery, whether fine or costume, is not really designed to be worn in the shower, pool or sea. Nor is it a good idea to keep it on for housework or gardening. Prolonged exposure to air, especially in humid conditions, will lead to darkening of most metals. Costume jewellery, such as charm bracelets, lightweight maille and large rings needs to be treated with a certain amount of respect - avoid bashing against hard objects or catching in clothing if possible. If you use perfume, hairspray or sunscreens, it's best to apply these before putting your jewellery on.

Storage
The simplest way to avoid tarnish and damage is to store your beautiful things in sealed 'ziploc' type bags. Not the prettiest of solutions, but very effective as they keep out the air that causes metal to oxidise. They will also stop them from bumping together and scratching or damaging metal, stone or glass. Not all glass beads or semi-precious gemstones are entirely colour or lightfast, so it is recommended that you store these in a dark place away from direct sunlight.

Cleaning
Always be gentle! Sterling silver - even items with lampwork beads or stones - can be cleaned with a polishing cloth (I like the Sunshine brand), but as a general rule, the simplest cleaning solution is warm soapy water and a very soft toothbrush. Never use an abrasive cleaner (even toothpaste). Some glass beads (especially the tiniest seed beads) can lose colour when immersed in water.

Copper jewellery will darken to a rich reddish brown very quickly. If you prefer the 'bright new penny' look, just add a tablespoon or two of lemon juice to a cup of water along with a teaspoon of salt and soak the piece for a few minutes. Rinse and dry and it will be as shiny as shiny can be!

Repairs
Your jewellery may get damaged or broken eventually. I am happy to offer a repair service for any piece purchased from me. Small repairs are undertaken free of charge other than postage cost, provided they are the result of normal wear and tear and not due to jewellery abuse! If more extensive work is needed, I will provide a quotation before starting.

As a UK-based seller, all my sales are made in accordance with UK law. I am not responsible for any local customs duty or tax levied in the country where they buyer is located.
