Four 1950s National Geographic Magazines with the old style cover before design was changed in 1960s. There are two October 1952 editions which include articles "Fish Men Explore a New World Undersea", "Pack Trip Through the Smokies", "Pennsylvania Dutch Folk Festival", "Lost Kingdom in Indian Mexico" and "Pilgrimage to Holy Island and the Farnes". There are 139 pages in this edition which are in very good condition. Both back covers are missing from both copies, and the front cover is separated from one copy. The September 1953 edition includes "In the London of the New Queen", "From Tucson to Tombstone", "Crickets, Natures Expert Fiddlers", "Along The Yukon Trail", and the "American Family in Afghanistan". There are 141 pages in this edition and the pages are in very good condition. The cover has some spine edge wear and has some staining. There is a 50 page article about the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II (she was so young - just 26 years old! - Prince Charles was only 5 y.o.) with many photographs of the Queen and Sir Phillip her husband, the Coronation event, the Grand Parade, London, the Queens Garden Party, the Royal Guard and the admiring crowds. The August 1954 edition includes "Sail Around South Norway", "Northern Europe Split by Cold War", "When Giant Alaskan Bears Go Fishing", "Colorado by Car and Campfire", "North with Finland's Lapps" and "A New Bird Immigrant Arrives". This edition has 140 pages which are in very good condition. The cover is also in very good condition with some wear to bottom spine edge. All four of these National Geographics have many pages of charming 1950s advertisements before and after the numbered pages. These advertisements, some frameable full page, are for French Line Cruises, RCA Victrola 7 Band Portable Radio, Ford Ranch Wagon, Remington Rand Printing Calculator, Steinway Pianos, Sinclair Oil, Western Pacific Railroad, Zenith Quality TV, New York Central Railway, Union Pacific Railroad, Greyhound Bus Line, many wonderful old automobile ads,and many more. Four vintage National Geographic periodicals with so many charming 1950s photographs, drawings and advertisements.
