Cobblestone Runner Pattern

This design is done on 7 count Stockholm fabric and uses 3 shades of DMC pearl cotton #3 to create the “flowing” effect. Finished size of the runner is about 65″ long and 16.5″ wide. Aida fabric, in either 11 count or 14 count works very well, too, but will change the size of the piece because the fabrics are different count. Design would also work well as an afghan done on Monk’s cloth, substituting yarn for the DMC thread and repeating the pattern until desired size is achieved. You will receive a pattern that includes basic instructions and clear chart for making this design.

Like most Swedish weave or huck embroidery designs, this pattern is suited for everyone from the beginner to the more advanced stitcher. Although it looks difficult, this form of needlework is one of the easiest to master and stitchers of any age will enjoy learning this almost lost needlework artform.
