This unique Pozzoni's Boodle Box compact has a patent date of 1915 on the back of the lid and was one of the first double compacts ever introduced. The compact was designed to be used with compressed powder and would have come with instructions for gluing the "rouge" powder cake on one side and the "face powder" cake on the other side of the base. The compact would have also had a mirror on the inside of the lid, which is now missing. If the compact was not refilled...it became a popular "Boodle Box" for carrying small trinkets and other necessities. The lid of the box has beautiful fluting to the metal, along with a scroll & shield design, and the words "Pozzoni's Boodle Box" embossed on the top.

The compact does show some noticeable wear to the metal & a darkened patina throughout. It looks like the box was used for many years after its work as a compact for carrying small notions & etc. The compact measures 4" by 1 1/2" in size and 1/2" in depth.

It will ship secured via USPS First-Class Mail.
