Charming Four-piece Bungalow Style 1960's Mid-century Handmade Mexican Paper Mache Yellow Bathroom Decor Set made in Mexico by artisans in the 1960's under artist Jeanne Valentine's name.

Includes paper mache magazine rack, trash canister, kleenex holder and toilet tissue cover. This set is very lovely and lyrical with a folk art, flower-child vibe emblematic of the 1960's.

Flowers, bows and butterflies in a gorgeous variety of yellows with green foliage adorn each item in this very rare paper mache vintage mid-century bathroom set. One side of the set is mostly bows, the other side is mostly flowers (see photos). During the 1950's and 1960's Jeanne Valentine had her paper mache art pieces hand made in Mexico. Unlike off-shore production now, these pieces have the feeling of Mexican pieces with a Anglo twist, giving them a collaborative vibe that is intriguing.

A beautiful soft yellow base tone is embellished with 3-D yellow and green flowers on the front and a yellow bow on the back of each item.

The magazine rack is quite heavy and the other pieces are firmly structured from lighter materials.

Kleenex tissue box: Length 11" x height 3.5" x width 5.5"
Toilet Paper Cover: Tall 7" x across 5" (cylinder)
Trash Can: Tall 9" x length 11.5" at top and 10" at base x width including floral 10" (opening is 9")
Magazine Rack: Tall 15" x length (base 13", top 15.5"), width including floral 9" (opening 8")

Weight for entire set is approx: 7 lbs.

Condition: Almost perfect vintage condition. Very unusual to have a set of four matching items of this type in such good shape. There are a few minor chips on the magazine rack. The trash can is very clean inside and everything appears to be almost unused, which is very rare for paper mache that is 50 - 60 years old.

Seriously beautiful papier mache and decoupage techniques combined on wood and paper board make this a unique and rare vintage find.
