Instant collection of 5 pretty STD microbe cross stitches, completed in 3" natural wood embroidery hoops

---The Story---

I PROMISE YOU that these will be the prettiest STDs you've ever seen.

They're chosen from the STD microbes available in my shop to sit prettily on your walls. Put them up all together or put up a few and switch them out! Freak out dates that you bring home five separate times if you want to. :)

...and if you can get them to come back after the first two or three times, you'll know they're a keeper.

---The Deets---

These are part of a series of microbe and germ cross stitches that feature a variety of brightly-colored microscopic viruses/bacteria/etc each stitched on white Aida cloth and framed in 3" natural wood hoop frames. Find more in the Microbes and Germs section of my shop.

The back of each germ or microbe will be protected by loose felt that clings to the back; the felt will not be glued to the hoop, in order to allow for easier cleaning and re-stretching should that become necessary.

*CUSTOMIZE: This is a standardized group of STDs, but if you're looking for a different set of microbes, check out the links below for listings of choose-your-own sets. :)

The microbes pictured represent many of the microbes currently available. If there's one you'd like to see in stitching that isn't pictured here and isn't in my shop yet, let me know!

*SHIP: This stitch set will be made to order and sent via USPS first class (with delivery confirmation) or international first class mail within three weeks of your order, usually sooner, unless I convo you otherwise or increased lead time is mentioned in my shop announcement (main shop, below the banner) and/or shop policies.

If you need these shipped sooner, contact me and let me know when you'd need them by. Chances are good I'll be able to get them to you in time.

*GIFT WRAP: Let me know if you are giving the these STDs as a gift (lol), and I'll wrap 'em up in plain paper and include a notecard for your "to" and "from" -- or tell me if you'd like me to send it directly to the recipient and what message you'd like to include, and I'll write it out for you before I pop it in the mail. (Nothing mean -- and I will not help you use these to tell someone you gave them an STD!)

---The Legal Stuff---

Microbes are not my intellectual property, obviously, but the cross stitch designs are copyright Alicia Watkins 2012. Please do not copy or distribute without permission, and please do not pin images without permission. (Convo me!)

If you're interested in the patterns for this or other germs, convo me, and I'll put them at the top of the queue for digitizing!

I am no kind of medical expert, and anything I know about the microbes in this series of stitches or that I appear to know, I learned from the internet. : ) NO PART of my listings or any other ramblings should be construed as ANY KIND of medical advice, because it's not. My only relevant expertise is in cross stitching!

Frequently asked questions about aliciawatkins

I love to do custom work during the non-holiday months! I try to work on one custom project at a time so that I can give each project my full customizing attention; as a result, a significant lead time on deadlines for receiving your custom order is very much appreciated.

If possible, try to contact me at least a month in advance of a deadline for receiving a 5x7 custom cross stitch. (That said, if you're in a pinch and you know I'm the stitcher for the job, convo me anyway! If I happen to be in between custom orders, I can often get things out in a much shorter time, and like I said, I love working with customers on personalized stitchery.)
Most of my small finished cross stitches have an option for gift wrapping.

If you don't see a drop-down list as you purchase a small hooped or framed cross stitch (smaller than 4x6), but you would like your item to be wrapped in plain paper (with a small notecard for your message included), request gift wrap as you check out in the "notes to seller"!

If you're having your gift sent directly to the recipient, please double-check the address it's going to before you finish checking out, and let me know what you'd like me to write in the notecard to your recipient! :)
Mini kits are available for wholesale ordering at any time; contact me for details on which kits I have available with shelf-ready labeling, and for pricing details!

I also offer a selection of finished cross stitch available for wholesale or certain consignment situations, for stores that feel my work would be a good fit. Contact me if you're interested in carrying my work in your store, and we'll talk about what I've done in the past and what you're looking for! :)
I believe in using secondhand frames because it's eco-friendly, supports my local thrift shops, and allows me to frame your items, if you'd like that, at very low cost.

Because they are unique and unapproved by you, I don't pass on the cost of the secondhand frames to you, except for the cost of shipping (usually about a $2 difference).

When you order an item from me, rest assured that you are only paying for the stitchwork, and you may treat the frame as a "suggestion" -- if you don't like it, give the frame away! Your 4x6 or larger cross stitch will come with a mounting board that will allow you to easily pop it out of the "suggested" frame I've sent it in and into any same-sized frame of your choice.
I can't send you a photo of your options for 4x6 or larger frames; I have too many frames and a too quickly rotating stock for that. However, you're welcome to let me know your preferences in color and material (i.e. wood, metal, plastic) and I'll do what I can to accommodate your wishes.

If you receive your stitchwork and you HATE the frame I chose from my cache of secondhand frames, never fear! The stitching for a 4x6 or larger frame will be mounted on a board that you can simply pop out of the secondhand frame you received, and pop INto a frame you choose from a local store, another Etsy seller, or anywhere you find perfect frames.

Because the secondhand frames I send are free, I cannot offer replacements or frame-related refunds.
Google and Youtube are your BFFs in learning to cross stitch, but if you've purchased a kit or pattern from my shop, I can also offer you a Basic Cross Stitch instruction booklet via email. Just let me know you'd like one, and I'll send it along! :)
