Handcrafted Leather Bench with Vintage Art Nouveau Fabric | Unique Home Decor | Elegant Bird Design Seat | Dark Blue Hand Painted Bench

One of a kind dark blue handcrafted leather upholstered bench features vintage art nouveau fabric placed in a unique round cut out in the front of the frame.

Frame: Restyled from a salvaged antique speaker table, cut to seating height, painted midnight blue and finished with hand rubbed wax.

Fabric in the Cut Out: Vintage remnant of art nouveau fabric featuring a pheasant motif facing the front, and a water lily motif from the same vintage fabric covering the back. (The cut out originally framed the speaker for an antique radio.)

Leather Top: Butter colored leather picks up the gold tones in the fabric beautifully. Biscuit stitched (no top stitching). Hand pressed buttons (deep blue to match the color of the frame).

Height: 20". I am 5'2". When I sit on it, the balls of my feet touch the ground, with the heels slightly above the surface of the floor.

This piece is designed as functional art for the home. I envision multiple uses including as a stunning entryway statement piece or a gorgeous vanity or bedroom seat. It might also be used as an ottoman. Let your imagination run wild!

What's with the name? In the past, Monday was the traditional day for laundering in order to start the week fresh. When I started this business, my laundry room became my workshop - home to a set of
antique upholstery tools and a mid-century industrial Singer sewing machine. Appropriately, even as my business grows (well outside my laundry room), I continue to use those beautiful old items to breathe new life into high-quality furniture that may have seen better days.
