Description

I have named my cougar Marquis Jacque de la Hoyarais. He is a French cougar. He has wild eyes that can pick out a victim at any distance. He is the greatest of all felines in the Western Hemisphere, and can be found from the Canadian Yukon all the way down to the Southern Andes. He is the closest relative to the more domesticated house cat.

Marquis Jacque is outlined with black Indian ink, and his watercolor colors are yellow, brown, gold, and orange.

This is his story:

~Marquis Jacque de la Hoyarais~

Size: 13 x 18 cm ( 5 x 7 inches )

The print is printed on fine art acid free water color paper. To ensure the longevity of the print, it will be sprayed with archival spray that makes it more UV and water damage resistant, as well as increases the scratch resistance so the ink will have more durability. The original painting is done with watercolour and Indian ink, which I then scanned in a high resolution scanner for premium quality. This digital scan of my original work is then used for printing.

The print comes with my artist signature and a date for authenticity. Limited print runs will be numbered (if applicable).

This item is carefully shipped between hard cardboard to prevent bending and to keep your product safe. Standard shipping is done with Canada Post. Alternate expedited shipping is available (at additional price).

My Watercolor Animals started as a single curved stroke with black Indian Ink and a dipping fountain pen gifted to me from my grandmother.

I'm interested in Native American art, particularly the Haida and Coast Salish, and I feel the shapes I integrate into the bodies of my animals accentuate the natural energy of the animals, bringing out their body parts. This process draws attention to the different contours of an animal's body while still remaining relatively 2D.

I have created names, personalities, and habits for each (almost all) animal. This personifies them by enlisting the help of prose in a curious moment of observation.

Words are not enough to describe how amazing this purchase was. Not only was the art unique, but it was also accompanied by a beautiful poem written in calligraphy. All I can say is, WOW

Payments

Secure options
  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Etsy keeps your payment information secure. Etsy shops never receive your credit card information.
All purchases are processed through etsy's Direct Checkout or Paypal. You can use your credit card using a guest account on Paypal—it's easy!

Returns & exchanges

Refunds and exchanges will be made for unsatisfied customers, but must be shipped back at buyer's expense (with original packaging), as long as the item is returned in original condition. Understandably, refunds cannot occur until the item is returned. If your item arrives damaged, please photograph it WITH PACKAGING, so I have proof to submit to the post office and make a claim.

Shipping policies

Unless you indicate otherwise, orders will be shipped to the address you have on file with etsy/Paypal. Please check it! Anything returned to me will result in new shipping charges, which will be the responsibility of the buyer.

I try to ship items within 24 hours. Due to messy nature of the animals at the farm, I may be far to busy feeding and making them happy so sometimes it will take a day or two to get your order processed. I will message you if it will be more than 2 days. If you need something earlier, please message me and I'll see what I can do! In the case of multiple items, I will combine shipping and refund the difference (by the payment method you used).

All items are shipped Canada Post, a very reliable system.

In keeping with my policy of reuse/recycle/redecorate, many of my shipping boxes and packing materials are recycled (but always clean).

I normally only include insurance for high-ticket items shipped within North America. Anything under $25 will not normally have tracking or insurance, unless Canada Post shipping method includes it. If you require it for any reason, please message me ahead of time. Of course, I will pay for it. International items typically come with a mild form of tracking, but please specify if you would like insurance as that usually isn't applied.

Shipping for the smaller animal prints will be packaged with a hard board to ensure the print does not get bent during shipping.

For international orders, customs fees and VAT charges are the responsibility of the buyer. These are fees your government imposes on its residents for items coming into your country. By law, I cannot pay them; they are your responsibility. I nor Canada Post cannot be responsible for said charges. By your country's laws, they are your responsibility.

Additional policies

I will guarantee they are already house trained. However, I understand the animals have a personality of their own and I respect that they should find a home that also fits with them. My heart is big and I have a spot for all the animals returned to the farm (see above return policy).
