I often use vintage lace, trims, and fabrics in my work. These materials may show natural aging or light staining due to their history. When this occurs, I always mention it in the item description.

This journal's story begins with a fabric cover constructed from cotton/poly painter's drop cloth on the front and inside lining. The cover has lovely, 3" wide off-white lace sewn in place on the left side of the cover. A green check fabric has been used to create pockets on the inside lining. The cover is intentionally unembellished so that you may add your own personal touches. It is tied closed with a length of off-white nylon tulle.

Three tags, approximately 3" x 5" have been cut from 140lb watercolor paper and collaged with bits of scrapbook paper, old book pages, lace, buttons and embroidery floss. They are very sturdy. The ties are off-white silk sari ribbon, black grosgrain ribbon and green eyelash yarn. Each tag has a layered journal word-- "Journal", "Imagine", "Create". I have used one tag to embellish the cover (it is not attached) but it is your discretion to embellish the cover to your liking and simply tuck the tag inside the journal.

The journal has 64 pages, (front and back) sewn into the journal in the 3-hole pamphlet style, using waxed linen thread. Most pages have been coffee stained and/or distressed with ink. The majority of the pages are white and designed for lots of writing or sketching. There is also cardstock, accounting journal paper, scrapbook paper, a brown paper doily and envelope. There are two tuck spots in addition to the cover pockets, but you may certainly add more. One tuck spot contains two blank tags with black/white baker's twine ties. Use your imagination to personalize these tags to your liking. The second tuck holds pieces of matching papers that may be written on or used to embellish other pages.

The style is shabby but a little eclectic and fun. Blank spaces give you many options to make it your own and you will not have to look for space to write. Measures about 6 1/4" x 4 3/4"
