Talk about your cool vintage electronics...this is a General Electric Wildcat Solid State Stereo with diamond stylus needle! Retro suitcase style where the player folds down and the speakers are built in. Totally portable and totally awesome! Plays 78, 45, 33, and 16 speeds, although, alas, the 45 record adapter has gone AWOL. Swing arm is adjustable to accommodate 12, 10, and 7" size vinyl. LOVE that sweet army green colored case (some light makes it look more of a teal, though) with lots of ultra shiny vintage electronic silver and a few perfect deep mustard yellow accents! This particular Wildcat is quite special in that it has the cursive graphics that the newer ones lack: notice the fancy script used for the iconic "Wildcat" emblem in the upper right of the inside of the case? Can you believe it still has the original hang tag on the handle, touting the incredible longevity of the GE Man-Made Diamond stylus?! For the true vintage electronic collector...we're talking old school stereo here!

This suitcase stereo is in fabulous vintage condition, very clean both inside and out with just a few scratches and surface wear for all its long and storied life. So clever, the case folds out to reveal the turn table built inside the integrated speakers. The case itself almost looks brand new except for a few places where some of the stickers are starting to peel off a bit at corners and such.

The turn table is in good shape; could use a good cleaning, but then, couldn't we all! Still has the needle and played a 33 record fine when we tested it; we did notice that the volume control does that scratchy sound thing that vintage electronics often do when you adjust it up and down but it's temporary and so we were able to sit back and enjoy our vintage Neil Diamond LP just fine (sorry, Neil not included with player - go get your own!). We're not experts on vintage electronics so can't tell you for sure if all is well, but it appears to be in great shape. We cannot make any guarantees on this (or we'd have to raise the price to hire an expert to inspect and recondition it first). If you purchase this, you are agreeing to buy it "as is." If you plan to use it for your next disco party (and, oh, wouldn't that be GRAND?!), you will want to have it inspected, reconditioned, and cleaned. At this price, what we CAN guarantee is that we've described its condition and functionality while it's in our possession accurately, and that it has amazing value in its history and design, even if it happened to quit entirely working.

Marked "General Electric....Wildcat," in the upper inside of the case. Also marked "Man-Made Diamond Stylus...General Electric," on lower left side of turntable. Lower right side of turntable says, "Stereo Solid State." Both speakers have a great black and deep mustard or gold colored "GE Stereo" label and emblem on them. The back of the player has a label marked, "Model V933p," and a few other things like the UL mark and watts.

One of the coolest things about this particular Wildcat is that it still has the paper hang tag attached to the handle (how does that happen?!), shaped like a diamond and that reads as follows:
"The GE Man-Made Diamond
This General Electric Stereo is equipped with the exclusive GE Man-Made Diamond Stylus. The average lifetime of these diamonds is in excess of 1000 hours or 10 times that of the ordinary sapphire stylus.
GE
239A7599"

Shipping reasonably is tricky because of its size and weight, but we'll do our best to keep costs low for you. Closed suitcase measures approximately 22" wide by 15" deep by 7" tall.

We hope you have just the perfect environment for this awesome retro GE Wildcat Stereo. Make it yours today and rock out tomorrow!
