Hand made silver flower with an amethyst sphere.
One of a kind item.

This is made entirely by hand. First the design is drawn and transfered to a piece of silver. The holes are drilled to put the sawblade trough, and everything is sawed out by hand. It is hammered into shape to fit the stone exactly so that is snaps into place. It is filed, sanded and polished. The little leaf with the hallmark on is sawed out and soldered on, and the top is made by milling round silver wire flat, and then shaping and soldering.
The stone is held in place by the silver, but is also secured with jewellery epoxy.

The sphere is 17 mm.
Chain not included.

Frequently asked questions about MirielDesign

Yes, I use genuine Campo del Cielo meteorites.
I purchase my meteorites only from registered members of IMCA, who have very strict rules on who they allow as members, and they keep close watch on the authenticity of the products their members sell.
My meteorites have also been verified by a local meteorite expert.
I've sold meteorite jewellery to IFuckingLoveScience, and they sell them in their webshop.

Campo del Cielo meteorites are not particularly rare, and are found in Argentina. Check out the wiki page for more info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campo_del_Cielo

Meteorites are iron, and contain nickel.
They need to be kept clean and dry to prevent rust.
I've had my meteorite wedding ring for about two years now, with no signs of rust at all.
I take it off when I wash my hands or shower, and when the ring needs to be cleaned, I do so with warm soapy water and a baby tooth brush. The meteorite needs to be thoughrougly dried right away, and then oiled. I use coconut oil, but any oil will do.

The silver I use is Sterling Silver 925, and may tarnish over time, as sterling silver does. Use a silver dip purchased at a jewellery store, and follow the instructions for it. You can dip the meteorites in it.
