Description

This Rosemary Cypress shampoo bar with Rhassoul Clay is designed for persons with oily hair. It has slightly less free conditioning oil compared to my other natural shampoo bars. This formula replaces our Dead Sea Mud Rosemary Cypress bar by replacing DSM with Rhassoul clay to improve the action under hard water conditions. Rosemary and Cypress essential oils were chosen to benefit the hair and scalp. This bar is 4.25- 4.5 oz. Bar shampoos reduce the need for a plastic container and are eco friendly. This bar is vegan, SLS free, and palm oil free. All ingredients are listed in the materials tab.

Special features:
~ no palm oil/ orangutan friendly
~ no SLS or surfactants
~ no synthetic ingredients
~ no animal testing
~ vegan
~ handmade, hand cut, hand stamped
~ non GMO
~ chemical fragrance free
~ dye free
~ no synthetic ingredients
~ vegan
~ ships without plastic

How to wash hair with a shampoo bar:
Washing with a shampoo bar is pretty simple. First you wet your hair thoroughly, the rub the shampoo bar in a few a patches in your hair. Then work up the lather with your hands. Make sure the lather is worked in through all of your hair and down to your scalp in order give your hair a complete cleaning. Then rinse your hair with fresh water making sure to get out all the shampoo. Rinsing your hair with bath tub water that already has soap mixed in with it will not give you a clean rinse. I wash with my shampoo bars every 2 to 3 days, or more often if I have been getting dirty in the garden or have been working out strenuously.

Transitioning to Shampoo Bars:
For some people it takes longer than others to adjust to shampoo bars. This depends on a lot of factors including if there is build up from other products in your hair. Also if the shampoo you have been using previously strongly strips your natural oils, then your scalp may seem to over produce sebum when you switch to a milder shampoo. Read this blog post if you need help transitioning.

Incompatible products:
Do not use shampoo bars with salt hair sprays.

Hard Water:
Our best shampoo bar options for very hard water are Key Lime Eucalyptus, Aloe with Lavender Rosemary Mint, Lavender Vanilla, Neem, Lemon Vanilla, Tea Tree Eucalyptus, Sesame Aloe, Lavender Patchouli, Rose Geranium, and Citrus Bay Rum Patchouli.

Swimmers:
For chlorinated pool and salt-water swimmers, wash your hair twice after swimming for best results. This is also the best practice for when using traditional shampoos.

Bleached and highlighted hair:
Our formulas have been created to work best with natural hair types, henna dyed hair, and dyed but not bleached hair. The bleaching changes the hair structure such that there is a larger surface area in which to trap conditioning oils. Results seem to vary with the level of damage from bleaching. Using a diluted vinegar rinse may help after washing with the shampoo bar (1-2 Tablespoons in 1 quart water). However bleached hair that has been dyed as well will need to make a strand test to make sure vinegar does not alter the hair color.
