Uncle Harvey really liked seeing the splendours of Hawaii and everyone was very surprised at the patience Hawaii showed him...

The original print is from a 1935 Curt Teich postcard photo set entitled "Aloha" Hawaiian Islands.

I am selling 50 signed and numbered prints of this painting. The number I have listed as available is how many are left in the series before it is sold out completely.

I will be selling the original altered print in November, 2013. I have been invited to be the local guest artist for VCON (Vancouver Science Fiction Convention) in October of this year and I would like to display the original there.

The series has been featured on:

and my new set in the same series:

I use (upcycle) thrift store landscape paintings as my backdrops and I "Put a Monster On It".

I know this form of art alteration has been growing in popularity but I like to think that I have a slightly different spin on it....I have a background in theatrical set and costume design so I prefer to think of the original prints as backdrops to be used as an environment for my aliens to interact with and to lend a place for them to create their own adventures...

The listing includes:

-One signed, numbered giclee print on matte paper with archival inks. It has been enlarged from the original size to fit a 5" X 7" frame.

-One 2 dimensional picture frame printed on glossy photo paper. I am including this so you can see how great the picture will look if you get a similar frame. You could use it as the display frame too, if you are so inclined. The Hollywood Regency frame was one of the reasons I was drawn to the print in the first place. I personally think the 2 dimensional format lends an especially classy element to the fine art...

* I have heard some people express concern that I am ruining someone else's art. I make a point of only painting on to prints...I also prefer prints that have been stained or marked so that it is a sure bet that I am rescuing the piece from the landfill rather than defacing any valuable art.

Got this and another of Thyrza's works as a present for my wife's birthday. After a delay happened with the local courier, Thyrza went above and beyond to ensure I had my prints on time and that I was happy. What a wonderful artist and person! My wife was very happy with the end (framed) pieces. Of course they make for great conversation when we have company over. Thanks again Thyrza :)
