This is a really lovely vintage ring...it has a wonderful presence on the hand, beautiful details and high quality gems. I'm not certain of the exact age of the ring...it's definitely vintage, and was sold to me as an original Art Deco piece (though the style is more Edwardian), but I think it is likely a vintage piece done in the Edwardian to early Deco style....though it might be from that era, but I am not absolutely certain...it's quite gorgeous, regardless!

Crafted of solid 18K gold and platinum, this ring features 3 diamonds and 10 natural emeralds. The center diamond is the larger of the three, and is set in a beautifully milgrain decorated square setting set on the diagonal. The diamond measures approximately 3.2 mm in diameter and is estimated to be approximately .12 carats or so. The diamond is very white, fiery and high quality and looks to be an early modern brilliant. I would judge the color to be in the G-H-I range of near-colorless and it is completely eye-clean and super clean under my loupe...it's a really lovely diamond and in great condition. It's held in it's setting with four small bead-settings, and these do show wear from age...I think it would be a good idea to have them retouched sometime in the near future to protect this fine diamond.

On either side of the central diamond is a small old single cut diamond set into a sweet, heart-shaped setting. Each of these stones is approximately 1.8 to 2 mm in diameter, and are also bright, sparkling and clean...a great match with the center diamond. These small bead settings also show wear (two beads more than the other) and again, I would recommend having them retouched sometime soon.

Above and below the central diamond, are two vertical rows of channel-set natural emeralds (5 per row). These are tiny square cut emeralds with fantastic, rich color, each stone measuring approximately 1 x 1 mm. The channel settings are edged with crisp milgrain and the emeralds themselves have an old cut. They look amazing to the naked eye, though under magnification I can see softening to their facets consistant with age, and a few stones have small chips, though these can only be seen under magnification. (they are also a bit grungy, but as cleaning emeralds is always a delicate task, I will leave that to the new owner or their jeweler.)

The rest of the face of the ring boasts very intricate lace-like filigree with milgrain work. At each shoulder is a pair of sculptural flower blossoms, and beautiful, fancy floral designs contiue down the band, and nearly all the way around, to the very back where the ring was once sized, and now has a small polished gold area.

The face of the ring measures approximately 15 x 20.5 mm....this is a ring that will be noticed! The rise off the finger is approximately 4 mm at it's highest point, but it is slightly domed to comfortably fit the contour of the finger. The undercarriage of the ring has pierced work and is still in good condition...though again, the ring could use a bit of a cleaning that I will leave to it's new owner.

The band is still quite sturdy and strong, with very light wear in general and a bit more wear at the very back of the band where it was once sized. At the very back, the polished gold area is approximately 4 mm in length, and yellow gold was used to do the sizing, though it is actually doesn't look very noticeable. Having that polished area is actually rather nice, as it will make sizing the ring easier and many period rings had an area at the back of the ring for sizing purposes when they were made. The inside of the band is marked "18K Plat" and has a small maker's mark that is difficult to make out. The total weight of the ring is a nice 3.75 grams.

Currently just a bit over a 6.5 on my ring mandrel, this ring could be sized within reason by a good jeweler who is experienced with estate filigree pieces. ** Please read my policies page for more information regarding sizing or feel free to convo me to discuss it or to obtain a quote from my trusted jeweler.

This is a gorgeous ring...perfect for those who love detail work and the combination of diamonds and emeralds...

Please convo with questions and Thanks for looking!
