This wooden wall rack is about 8 inches long and 3 high, with 4 hooks and a metal plate cast with relief pictures of buildings in Berlin, designed as a souvenir of the Berlin Interbau Exhibit of Building held in 1957. The one with the round shape in the center was built by the United States as their contribution to the exhibit, designed to symbolize freedom of 'intellectual work'.. Unfortunately, the roof collapsed and had to be rebuilt and reinforced, but it was a nice thought at the time.
In excellent condition with no damage other than a little dust, this souvenir has fared better than the original building. Two rings on the back for hanging. The design is very mid century modern with a touch of art deco styling.
Packed weight about 1 1/2 lbs, shipped with tracking and insurance in the US.
