Amber has been used for healing and for protection since prehistoric times. It's reputed to heal just about any complaint - teething necklaces of Baltic amber are very popular right now - and it is also supposed to ward off any negative influences.
The Tibetans heat treat copal, tree resin which is only partially fossilized, to harden it and the resultant material is somewhat muddier in color than true amber and thus is known as Tibetan "beeswax".
This necklace has a pendant and four silver-capped beads of Tibetan "beeswax". The pendant is actually half of a large carved "melon" bead, set into a Tibetan silver bezel with beautiful repousse' of an animal on the back. The saucer shaped spacer beads are Thai Hill Tribe and are of fine silver. The next beads on the necklace are honey jade and the smallest beads are horn.

19" long. The pendant is just a little over an inch long.

Please note: amber and copal are porous substances and polishing cloths and ultrasonic cleaners should never ever be used on them.

All my amulet jewelry is made with the intention that the wearer be brought into a state of balance and healing. This necklace will be sent in a gift box made in the US of recycled materials.
